First Generation - White Pine Improvement

Description: The first generation tests have been established in an effort to move the White Pine tree improvement program forward by developing 3 progeny tests; one of which will be converted to a seed orchard after the testing is completed. This strategy will capitalize on seed collection efforts undertaken by the MNR and SFL's (Nipissing Forest Resource Management Inc., Ottawa Valley Forests, and Westwind Stewardship Inc.) The objectives are to conduct necessary management and maintenance activities within various white pine seed orchards in Ontario.
